Cyber law expert Na.Vijayashankar, also known as Naavi in Cyberspace, is one of the most respected names in the Indian tech world.  As Chairman of the Digital Society Foundation and as a Director of Cyber Law College, one of Naavi’s life mottos is “Let’s build a responsible Cyber society”.    Naavi’s views are highly regarded and he is regularly quoted by the leading Indian newspapers and magazines.

Porn cartoon character and sex addict Savita Bhabhi has been titillating the Indian internet in recent months.  Business entity ‘Indian Porn Empire’ manages the Savita Bhabi website, but the writers and designers do not want to put their names on the website. Like many social media campaigns, a fun exterior hides a marketing campaign.  Many Indian men have volunteered services like translation to the Savita Bhabi website.  Savita Bhabi is a marketing ploy by Indian Porn Empire to earn more porn rupees.

When Savita Bhabi first started, they did not have filters to keep out children and minors from their website.  After being written about by national media like CIOL and Yahoo, and smaller websites like techgoss, they have now put up a warning sign asking minors below 18 not to peek inside.

Cyber law expert Naavi has been actively campaigning against Savita Bhabhi. According to CyberMedia, “Vijayashankar has also suggested a CBI enquiry to bring the owners of the Canada-registered website to book.”

Yesterday, Naavi wrote a heart felt editorial in his website in which he detailed how an 11 year old boy in Bangalore was so negatively influenced by the Porn Savita Bhabi website that he sent an obscene email to his teacher. The teacher complained to the cops and the Bangalore Police booked the child under the ITA 2000 law which carries a possible jail term of 5 years.  Fortunately, the parents and police resolved the issue in a mature fashion with the best interests of the child at heart.

Naavi urges the Police and CBI  in this editorial to “ hunt for all those involved in this sinister project (Savita Bhabhi) and bust the racket”

CyberMedia is the largest specialty media house in South Asia and amongst India's top five magazine publishers.  Its stable includes such respected magazines like Dataquest, PCQuest and DQ Week.  The group has 12 websites led by www.ciol.com.

Needless to say CyberMedia is one of the most powerful voices in tech India.  Managers get huge promotions and salary increases based on one positive article in Dataquest.

Ciol.com publishes a number of lists including one about ‘Top Articles of the Day’.  Today,  this prestigious list included stories about ‘People leaving Infosys for higher studies’,  ‘World’s oldest blogger dies’,  ‘Reshape disk for free without destroying data’ and ‘Microsoft honours Blue Stag Infotech.’ 

This list of ‘Top Articles of the Day’ is dynamic and changes throughout the day.  But there is only one article that has remained on top for more than a month.  This article ‘Toon porn star Savita Bhabhi under fire’ has been the most read article by techies in the Ciol website.  Savita Bhabhi is an Indian female porn cartoon character making waves on the internet.

So if you boyfriend has sometimes been glued to Ciol in the last month, he has more than Microsoft on his mind.

And I thought techgoss was cheap for only paying me Rs. 750 for 200 word snippets.  Today, I saw someone with even more ‘low testosterone’ financial payments. Porn website savitabhabhi.com features the sexual adventures of a buxom Indian female cartoon character who according to her promotional material “is inspired by my hot Indian bhabhi. She is a regular Indian woman in the eyes of the world but only a few lucky people know who she really is”.

Understandably, the cartoon character prefers anonymity.  “Savita just can't get enough sex, and the sexual experiences she has narrated to me have always got me hot. Due to social issues (she is married) she was not willing to expose her true identity.” her website breathlessly pants.

This certainly piqued my interest.  I logged on to see if there were any part-time jobs available at this hot and happening website whose Alexa web ranking is getter firmer by the minute.  As Savita is the first such ‘desi’ cartoon character, she has been written about by Yahoo and Cybermedia in India.  As a full-time IT journalist, I have a lot of time on my hands and always looking for the extra bit on the side which pays for my clothes and shoes.

My mind wandered. Perhaps, a day job at boring techgoss and part-time night job with Savitabhabi.com.  Nothing wrong with what goes on between consenting adults.

Sure, enough the savitabhabhai.com website had a number of positions available for translators, script writers and guest artists.  I was in a state of excitement at the prospect of juggling two relationships.

Sadly, it was a tease.  The website clearly states “All the positions in the Savita Bhabhi team are voluntary and honarary. We are a bunch of guys who really enjoy what we do and that’s the only reason we do it, nothing else. Being part of the team means you get to be the first one to see SB updates and be a pioneer in this amazing concept. Of course there are always goodies like free movies, etc for us to relax and enjoy after a hard day at work”.

Fortunately, for the website there is no dearth of men looking for a relationship.  Men from Pakistan,  Bangladesh,  Gujrat,   Punjab and just about every part of  the continent have sent in messages they would like a free job.

Would I work for a website that pays some people but not me?  And not only the sexy cartoon character,  but no one wants to put a name or contact number on the website.  No,  thanks.  As one of my girlfriend told her ex-boyfriend, “let’s just be friends”.  And better still,  “Its not you,  its me”.

Techgoss note:  Contrary to its claims of being run by a few guys just wanting to have a good time,  savitabhabi is owned by the ‘Indian Porn Empire’ which is  an established business making and distributing adult films.  It gives a $500 ‘incentive’ to any Indian who wants to become a distributor.

Techgoss note:  On a serious note after the CyberMedia news article,  cyber law expert Na.Vijayashankar,  has filed a petition against the website with the Karnataka Police. According to CyberMedia,  “Vijayashankar has also suggested a CBI enquiry to bring the owners of the Canada-registered website to book.”

Strictly speaking,  Savitabhabi may be breaking Indian laws as it does not have any filters to keep out kids and minors.   Whether they get prosecuted depends on a number of factors.
