IT Admin secure? By Pulkit Sharma
US Headquartered Information Security company Cyber-Ark has just released an interesting survey about IT Administrators who manage passwords and other security aspects of our organizations.
According to the Cyber-Ark survey, most IT staff would steal sensitive company information including CEO’s password as well as confidential customer details, if they were made redundant.
88 percent of IT administrators admitted they would take corporate secrets with them if sacked. Equally interesting was the survey fact that one third of our IT security colleagues use their super access to check out the salaries and personal emails of colleagues.
Naturally, the critics are saying that it is in the interests of firms like Cyber-Ark to scare business into buying their software and services. And the sample base of 300 IT employees surveyed was too small. Note the survey was done in Europe.
Techgoss note: Cyber-Ark Software was founded in 1999 by a team of industry-recognized security experts. Cyber-Ark Software is privately held and backed by some of the world's most successful venture capitalists, including Jerusalem Venture Partners, Seed Capital Partners (a SOFTBANK Affiliate), JP Morgan/Chase Partners and Vertex Management.
