Infosys: BPO expansion

Infosys BPO, the business process outsourcing arm of Infosys, has recently inaugurated its second BPO campus at Mahindra World City.  Mahindra World City is in the Special Economic Zone in Jaipur, Rajasthan.  Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje was the chief Guest.

The Phase One of the project involved an investment of Rs. 171 crore.  The total Infosys investment in this 3,200 seat, 42 acre project will be Rs. 531 crores. It will be a green campus with the buildings designed to meet the gold/platinum rating standard of LEEDS.  49 percent of the entire area would be reserved as a green belt.  The first Infosys BPO campus at Sitapur has 890 seats and had been operational since August 2006.

Infosys BPO operates in 7 countries and employs more than 17 thousand people.  Last year, it had revenues of $250 million.
